Although there is the occasional reference to current affairs in the lyrics, this is an album more concerned with using language to create stories and to express feelings. In these songs, Child is able to pull off several bold moves, most notably a video about a blind man who, instead of getting a hearing test to prove he is deaf, gets his hearing restored by using his newly restored ears to tell the world he "doesn't hear," which is just about the cutest thing a piano teacher can say..
