This is an interesting video about Japanese spanking of children, especially the famous Japanese hana (often spanked on the head or face) and the American version of the same "spanking". The author contends that the American style of spanking is more psychologically harmful than the Japanese hana. It is not uncommon to see children on the receiving end of a spanking in the United States and spanked there for offenses such as: throwing tantrums, talking back, getting into fights with classmates, cutting class time, hitting other kids, being a "quarrel starter" and so on.
