In the last few years there has been a major problem that has come up at many skateboarding parks across the country; a mature teacher/student relationship problem. For quite some time I have been noticing that the ratio of mature teachers to under-aged students is much higher at many of these outdoor skating locations than I would like to see. Not long ago I went into an outdoor skating park and noticed two older women fighting and one of them was bleeding from what I could only assume was a nose bleed from a fall, the girl standing by them was older than them both and she was not concerned about the fact that one of her students was hurting or even had a scrap. The other woman did not seem to notice the blood on her friend's nose. This happened in front of several other skaters who witnessed the entire incident. I think that this particular situation at the Grandmothers Skatepark in North York is an extreme example of the need for a change in the age of the skaters and the needs of the parents that run these parks..
