Grannys Hole is a local landmark that attracts many visitors and locals to its long narrow barbeque area, which has become the favourite family entertainment spot for many generations. Grannys Hole is located in a wooded valley that has remained untouched by modern civilization, since its creation back in the 1700's when a local woman apparently had a vision that the area would one day become the capital of New Zealand, but sadly this did not happen. Grannys Hole still retains much of its traditional rural charm with its comfortable, open, warm and dry premises and its selection of restaurants and food outlets.
