AMATEURO - French for big ass, is a term used amongst the French gay and lesbian community to describe a French style big sexy women's swing dancing party. The word "amateur" has been attached to the term, but we think that term could also apply to any women who rocks a big black dress, high heels and a short skirt/panties combination. AMATEUROS are also known as "missionary" dancers since they usually perform on "mission" or volunteer positions in public places (such as in a ballet performance). They are not professionally trained dancers, and some of the more "exotic" dance styles they perform may not even be allowed in France (such as cabaret, steven lee, or waltz).
