Growing Sperma Mulchen 5 is not difficult and can be grown in a range of temperatures and soils. It is best grown in a sunny spot with good drainage. Plant it in mid-summer if your climate is cold, and in mid-fall in hot, dry areas like the Southwest US. It prefers temperatures between 55 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit. It can be grown in zones 9b-12, and does best in Zone 11. It should be moved indoors when temperatures fall below 55 degrees, otherwise its roots will rot.
