Stop in the name of the Law
Featured
The infamous yell "Stop in the name of the law" is often heard from police officers while they are running a red light. But the words don't actually mean much unless you've committed a crime, which is not what police are trying to do. Many times, police just want to get you to stop, and don't care about the law. This phrase is a misnomer because there is no moral compulsion to stop.
